What is nalaxone?

Naloxone, also known as Narcan, is a safe and effective medication that can reverse an overdose from opioids like fentanyl, prescription painkillers, or heroin in as little as 30 seconds. If you or a loved one are taking opioids for any reason, you should have naloxone on hand.

NEED A PRIVATE TRAINING?

Contact Sonya, our Program Manager, at sonya@thecaf.org to schedule

a private training session for local groups of 10 or more.

GET FREE NALOXONE MAILED STRAIGHT TO YOU

Web-based training and postage is made possible in part through our partnership with NEXT Harm Reduction and the naloxone medication is donated by Direct Relief. The Chris Atwood Foundation is grateful to these organizations for making it possible for us to package and mail thousands of kits annually to people in need.

To qualify for mail-based naloxone distribution, you will need to view an 8 minute training video, answer a short quiz, and provide enrollment information. Please note that NEXT and The CAF do not interact with insurance in any way and our enrollment form is not HIPAA compliant.

Opioid overdose prevention and response trainings can vary, and in some cases cover the topic extensively. We encourage you to visit NEXT's educational resources page to learn more about rescue breathing, the recovery position, opioid overdose aftercare, and a host of other valuable topics.

The training video, quiz, and enrollment are available in both English and Spanish. Please choose the option that is the most comfortable for you.
